03If you cannot sign in
Email us at info@joballa.com with the subject “Account deletion request”, and include the following so we can find and verify the account:
- The email address or phone number used on the account
- Whether it is a worker or an employer account
- Your full name as it appears on the profile
We use these details only to verify that the request comes from the account holder, and we may ask one follow-up question if we cannot match the account. We never ask for your password, a Mobile Money PIN, or a copy of your identity document in order to process a deletion.
Requests sent by email are completed within 30 days, and usually within 14.
04What happens to your data
Deleted permanently
- Your profile, photo and generated CV
- Identity documents, selfie and verification records
- Mobile Money numbers saved for payouts
- Saved jobs, application drafts and notifications
- Sign-in details, sessions, devices and activity logs, including stored IP addresses
Kept, without anything that identifies you
Records of payments, completed engagements, disputes and their outcomes, and ratings and reviews are kept. The other party to a job is entitled to a record of completed work and money that changed hands, and accounting rules require it. Once the account is deleted these records carry no name, contact details, photo or documents, and cannot be used to identify you.
Any job postings still open on a deleted account are closed automatically, so they stop receiving applications.
A deleted account cannot be recovered or signed into again.
05Employer accounts with a wallet balance
An employer account cannot be deleted while its wallet still holds a balance, because that is real money that cannot be returned to an account with no contact details. Withdraw or settle the balance first — the app explains this if it applies to you.
